History of the green Internet

• 1999 the first provider in California, namely Solarhost.com installs a green data center, powered with solar cells
• 2003 the first provider in Germany, atomstromfreies-internet comes into existence an provides nuclear free mail-services
• 2005 in May www.ecologee.net was founded, some months later the green grid
• 2006 some new green webhosting providers around the world, even in Australia come into existence. December the first professional green data-center in germany is completed www.ge.net
• 2007 Februar, the UN-IPCC report is realeased, March the TAZ and La Nacion in Argentina, writes about www.ecologee.net, meanwhile there exist 6 nucalear free webhosting providers in Germany April, in Switzerland at the ETH Zurich a Congress about the green data-center is held, also in other towns of Europe July the "green data-center" topic has reached nearly all the mass media, ecologee has founded a group on XING to connect all "green internet people" around the world, in germany raised due to some npp-failures a new wave of eco-awareness.
